IMAQA x Col&McArthur: A watch born in the heart of Greenland
1700 km, one mission, a trace in time.
SILA: Where humanity pushes the limits of time
In the heart of Greenland, four explorers embark on a 1,700 km journey in complete autonomy. Driven by the SILA mission, this expedition goes beyond a mere challenge : it becomes a quest for meaning, in service of science and memory. From this adventure emerged a clear truth : bringing Col&McArthur and IMAQA together around shared values : transmission, surpassing oneself, commitment. IMAQA is a Belgian project led by scientists and adventurers aiming to collect unique and precious data in the most remote and fragile areas of our beautiful planet. Together, they brought to life a unique timepiece, crafted from artefacts of the expedition. Each watch will be the testament of a journey and a way to forever capture a fragment of this story.
A WATCH WITH RELICS FROM THE MISSION
The Col&McArthur project was born from a simple idea: to extend the mission beyond the expedition. To reuse materials from the field, giving them a second life, and to anchor this adventure in time. Both the design and the integrated elements will remain deliberately secret until the collection is launched. Part of the proceeds will help support future IMAQA scientific missions. Together, let’s continue to move science forward.
The team behind the mission
Four explorers, four areas of expertise, one shared ambition. Gilles Denis, Sasha Doyle, Ed Luke and Wilson Wai-Yin Cheung join forces to cross Greenland in total autonomy. Together, they venture where few humans go, turning every kilometer covered into another step forward for science.
FOLLOW THE MISSION IN REAL TIME
Each day, they move further into the vast white expanse, facing the wind, the cold, and the unknown. Follow their progress in real time, discover behind the scenes of the expedition, and experience the SILA mission as close to the field as possible.
