Dive into history.

As fragile diplomatic discussions continued between Tokyo and Washington, on December 7, 1941, at 7:48 a.m., the Japanese air force, launched from six aircraft carriers, crossed the Pacific to deliver a surprise strike against the American base at Pearl Harbor. More than 2,400 lives were lost, and dozens of ships were destroyed. This lightning offensive sealed the decisive entry of the United States into World War II.

US Navy destroyers

The hour markers on the dial echo the serial numbers of the frigates lost in the attack, also known as "destroyers." A discreet but powerful tribute to these unsung heroes, whose sacrifice remains etched in history.
Destroyers

Battleships of the USA Navy

The names engraved on the case rim correspond to those of the battleships hit during the attack on Pearl Harbor, each bearing the name of a U.S. state. The toll of the assault was tragic: 18 of the 96 ships on the island of Oahu were demolished or severely damaged. The date of December 7, 1941, marking this historic turning point, is engraved at 12 o'clock, forever recalling this moment in history.
Battleships

The memory of our heroes

The human losses during the attack amounted to 2,335 killed and 1,143 wounded. The water trapped in the dial echoes the memory of these American fighters. Through this "Pearl 1941" timepiece, time reads like a tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for freedom, carrying history and the courage of these men with every passing second.

A dial inspired by sonar

Like sonar, the hour and minute hands sweep the dial with precision.

SOS at 7:49 a.m.

The SOS inscription, represented in Morse code, stands for "Save Our Ship" and points to the exact time of 7:49 a.m. This precise moment marks the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese Air Force, a reminder of resilience in the face of adversity.

"The day which will live in infamy"

Engraved on the back of the watch is President Franklin Roosevelt's famous quote from December 8, 1941, calling the date "a day that will live in infamy." This phrase has become one of the most iconic in connection with the unprecedented attack on Pearl Harbor, a pivotal moment in U.S. history.

The island of Oahu

Pearl Harbor is a shallow bay located on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, near Honolulu. Once believed to be the residence of the shark goddess Ka'ahupahau, it means "harbor of pearls" and inspired the name of the collection. Primarily used for pearl oyster production until the late 19th century, it became strategic after the Spanish-American War of 1898, leading the United States to annex the archipelago for a permanent presence in the Pacific.

Once again, I cracked... I received my Pearl two weeks ago, and I am once again very satisfied with it. The attention to detail, the efficiency of the entire team in answering my questions and concerns... and above all, once again, a richly crafted model. This dial with this completely unusual bubble recalls both this dark period in history, but also the hard work that went into creating such a model... Bravo for all your creations, despite the obvious addiction they provide!
