collectible watches

Owning a collectible watch means holding a fragment of History—one that is ready to change wrists, and to live on. Yours today, an heir’s or a collector’s tomorrow. For a timepiece to truly deserve the title of collectible watch, three conditions are essential: carefully controlled rarity, a strong emotional connection, anda proven ability to be passed on, ensured by the quality of its materials.

At Col&McArthur, these principles come together in every collection. Let us guide you through the elements that transforma creation of the House—of the Maison into an authentic collectible watch—one designed to endure across generations.

Collectible watch or premium watch? Where watchmaking meets History

What defines a "high-end" or "premium" watch?

Across the watchmaking world, a high-end timepiece is generally defined by three core criteria:

  • Proven noble materials – 316L stainless steel or watchmaking-grade titanium, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and reference Swiss or Japanese movements.
  • Refined finishing - polished and brushed contrats, carefully worked dials, applied indices, and individual quality control.
  • Credible mechanics - an automatic caliber adjusted in the workshop or a high-precision quartz movement, both designed for long-term reliability and serviceability.

A watch crosses into the premium category when mechanical precision is no longer an end initself, butbecomes the vessel for emotion. The movementremainsimpeccable, yet the eye is drawn toan immediatelyrecognizable silhouette, and the heart to a story that belongs to that watch alone.

Where do Col&MacArthur collectible watches stand?

Col&McArthur collectible watches sit precisely at the intersection of these two worlds.

Beyond strict watchmaking standards—316L steel immune to corrosion, sapphire crystal resistant to time’s wear, a movement regulated in our Liège workshop—Col&McArthur and its collectible watches pursue a rarer ambition: to make History beat in rhythm with your seconds.

Like a heartbeat borrowed from the past—and carried forward, the Sarton 1748 premium collectible watch crystallizes the very ambition of Col&McArthur. Its neoclassical presence reveals, through a transparent caseback, the rotating Sellita rotor—a living nod to Hubert Sarton, the Liège watchmaker who, in 1748, envisioned the automatic winding system still used throughout the industry today.

A heartfelt tribute to our master watchmaker from Liège

A heartfelt tribute to our master watchmaker from Liège

For the House of C&M, paying tribute to Hubert Sarton fulfills the mission of memory and transmission we have embraced through our collectible watches. It is a way of honoring our own roots—Liège, a land of miniature metal ingenuity—and of affirming our belief that innovation only has meaning when it can be passed on, when it transcends time through a singular timepiece. By celebrating this great watchmaker from Liège, we in turn place a witness of watchmaking history into the hands of the collector, inviting them to join us in a lineage of true timepiece enthusiasts.

Why every C&M collectible watch is truly unique

Each Col&McArthur watch, once it finds its wrist, becomes an expression of determination rather than a mere collectible. This quiet bond shifts the watch from the realm of the accessory to that of an inner compass—quiet, personal, unwavering. From then on, every tick reflects your ambitions, and the calm presence of the dial signals—only to those who know how to read it—that you belong to those who build what comes next.

A numbered series

Distinction through a shared bond

Whether quartz or automatic, eachlimited-editioncollectible watchbears a number engraved on its case. This number is more than a simple sequence: it draws an invisible thread between all those who carry the same story on their wrist. Every piece becomes a link ina chain of passionate collectors who recognize one another through a shared fragment of History.

Your ambitions, your convictions

An enduring emblem

When you choose a Col&McArthur collectible watch, you do not simply wear a timepiece—you embody the momentum of a spirit that changed the course of history. The boldness embodied by Napoléon 1821 pulses beneath the sapphire, reminding us that no frontier is ever final; the insatiable curiosity of Leonardo 1519 whispers an invitation to see the world differently. Each piece in the Visionaries collection translates, into steel and sapphire, the inner fire of extraordinary minds.

Alongside this historical panache, the engraved words of the Signature series—Integrity, Loyalty, Resilience—offer simple, constant markers: a personal thread the watch extends, discreetly, with every beat.

Your reflection, your mark

Engrave your collectible watch

The authentic fragment and the numbered series tell a collective epic; engraving inscribes your own chapter into an exceptional timepiece.

Engrave a defining date, a guiding family motto, or the coordinates of a place that shaped your unique path.

Fully integrated into our Liège workshop, the engraving service transforms your watch through personalized engraving in just minutes—approximately thirty minutes during a showroom visit, or up to five business days for online orders within Europe and up to ten business days for orders outside Europe.

The engraving of your collectible watch is CNC-milled under micro-controlled precision, then examined under magnification before final polishing. Nearly one in three owners chooses this step, a sign that a Col&McArthur is truly complete only when your mark joins the fragment of History it carries.

At the intersection of these three characteristics, there can only be one special watch: yours.

Passionate about watchmaking and collectible watches?

Assemble your own personal timepiece

Twice a year—in May and October—Col&McArthur opens the doors of its Liège workshop during Open House events reserved for true lovers of collectible watches and watchmaking craft.

The program includes a guided tour behind the scenes, open conversation with our watchmakers, and above all, the exclusive experience of assembling your own timepiece under their supervision. You secure the oscillating weight, seat the movement, fasten the caseback; each gesture, accompanied by technical insight and historical anecdotes, allows you to feel the intimate heartbeat of the piece you will take home.

The experience extends beyond the workbench. Private launches of future limited editions take place in emblematic cultural venues—partner museums and heritage institutions—where fragments of History and emerging collectible watches converse beneath vaulted ceilings. Personalized invitations and priority pre-orders seal a rare bond between the House and those who choose to experience History before anyone else.

A Col&McArthur collectible watch unites an authentic narrative, demanding mechanics, a deliberately limited series, your personal engraving, and the memory of a privileged watchmaking experience. Join the lineage—and carry it forward.
