Lunar Watch

Since the dawn of time, the Moon has illuminated our nights and nourished our dreams. Celestial lantern, guide for navigators, muse of poets… it has always been the mirror of our dreams of transcendence. Then came July 20, 1969.

Lunar watch – from poetry to feat, etching memory

July 20, 1969 : the moment when one man's step became that of all humanity, beyond any earthly horizon. That evening, the Moon ceased to be inaccessible and became a landmark in our collective memory.

It is this crossing of the boundary that Col&McArthur chooses to honor through its lunar watches . Each one seals within its dial a true fragment of this alien world, and transforms a universal dream into a tangible legacy.

Lunar material on the wrist: authentic regolith and dust

A Col&McArthur lunar watch does not simply represent the Moon: it preserves a piece of it within itself.

  • The Lunar 1969 contains an authenticated fragment of lunar regolith, that grey and granular dust that covers the surface of our natural satellite.
  • The Lunar 1.622, for its part, seals fine lunar dust under sapphire glass, kept in a hermetically sealed chamber with a dial.

These elements are not symbolic, but very real: they have traveled from the Moon to us. Wearing them on your wrist thanks to your lunar watch is to touch the inaccessible, to bear witness that yesterday's impossible has become today's heritage.

Two lunar watches, two interpretations of the same horizon

The Lunar 1969 watch: a memory of the first step

Published in 1,969 copies in homage to the year of the moon landing, the Lunar 1969 space watch condenses the moment when Neil Armstrong uttered these words which have become universal: " That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind ".

Its case back, engraved with the imprint of the first step, serves as a reminder that the feat remains, forever, inscribed in the lunar soil as well as in memories.

In homage to the Apollo missions, a piece from this collection of lunar watches was personally presented to Alfred Worden, astronaut of Apollo 15. Left alone in lunar orbit, he completed 74 moonwalks in complete solitude, becoming " the most isolated man in the world " according to the Guinness Book of World Records. His 38-minute spacewalk to retrieve film remains one of the most daring in space history.

The Lunar 1.622 watch: the philosophy of elevation

The second interpretation of the lunar watch , the Lunar 1.622, takes its name from the average lunar gravity: 1.622 m/s², six times lighter than on Earth. Its dial reproduces the lunar surface in relief, with its craters and maria frozen in metal.

Around the dial, a ring lists all the Apollo missions: in white those that remained in orbit, in gold those that set foot on the lunar surface.

Bearing official NASA accreditation, the Lunar 1.622 carries the institutional seal of space exploration. It is more than just a tribute: this lunar watch is a lesson in perseverance and method, reminding us that every step – successful or not – contributed to the collective achievement.

A collective achievement, a shared memory through C&M's lunar watch models

The Moon belongs to no flag: it is the common horizon of humanity. Col&McArthur lunar watches embody this universality. They transform a fragment of regolith or dust into an intimate symbol, both a legacy of history and an invitation to pursue one's own momentum toward the unknown.

Because beyond the metallic sheen and sapphire crystal, what we wear here is a fragment of human memory. The C&M 1969 and 1.622 lunar watches remind us that the greatest achievements never originate from a single individual, but from a collective that dares to dream together.

And every time they tick on your wrist, they also remind you that History, like the Moon, is not a distant backdrop: it continues to light our way, if only we look up.
