A dial crafted from historic railway steel
Railway 1926 was created to pay tribute to the great railway epic. Its dial houses a material steeped in history: the steel from an iconic rail dating back to 1997, taken from the LGV 1 high-speed line linking Brussels to Paris. On the wrist, it brings back to life what allowed millions of destinies to cross paths, reunite, and move forward.
“This century belongs to steam, just as the other belonged to sail.”
— Victor Hugo
An inspiration drawn from the Type 12 locomotive
The design of the Railway 1926 collection is inspired by the Type 12 locomotive of the Belgian Railways, an absolute symbol of speed and modernity. Introduced into service in 1939 by the SNCB, this streamlined steam locomotive connected Brussels to Ostend at 120 km/h, reaching peak speeds of up to 160 km/h during test runs. Its fully streamlined casing and concealed mechanics embodied bold engineering, conceived for pure performance and high-speed stability. A rare machine that has become a legend of European rail.
