A map of the beaches

With our Memory – Normandy 1944 model, you have the choice between two powerful symbols: an authentic fragment of an American helmet, a direct witness to history, or the extension of the dial map, in homage to the land of regained freedom. Two aesthetics, one same emotion: that of memory.
Beach

The fire line

A golden thread crosses the dial, marking the border between sea and land: where the Allied armada opened the way for the D-Day landings. A symbol of the breaking point, it recalls the hope carried by the ocean and the courage engraved on the land, where so many men sacrificed their future for ours.
Fireline

The paratroopers' needle

At 00:50, the first paratroopers of the 6th Airborne Division launched themselves into the Norman night. Soon followed by thousands of others, they jumped into the darkness, driven by duty and courage. The parachute-shaped seconds hand pays homage to this historic moment.
Parachute Needle

The military map of the landing

On the dial, the names Texas, Glasgow and Hawkins pay tribute to the Allied ships that made history. This part of the dial, inspired by a period military map, traces their positions along the Normandy coast, where they played a key role in the bombings of Operation Overlord and in supporting the Allied advance.

The emblem of the US Army

The base of the Normandy 1944 box is intended as a memorial in its own right. At its center, the emblem of the US Army pays tribute to the decisive role of American soldiers in the liberation of Europe.
The star

"The Eyes of the world are upon you"

The timeless words of General Eisenhower, the man who would one day become President of the United States, still resonate: "The eyes of the world are on you." A phrase etched in history, a symbol of the courage, sacrifice and determination of those who rose up against tyranny.
The quote

The D-Day landing beaches

All around, the names of the five D-Day landing beaches: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword recall both the scale of the operation and the unity of the Allied nations brought together to liberate Europe.
The beaches

D-Day

At its center lies the date that changed the course of history: June 6, 1944, the dawn of liberation. On that day, more than 156,000 Allied soldiers took part in Operation Overlord, supported by nearly 7,000 ships and more than 10,000 aircraft. An unprecedented mobilization, a symbol of the collective courage and sacrifice of those who, in the name of freedom, walked the beaches of Normandy at dawn on D-Day.

For this edition, Col&McArthur has designed two dials steeped in history. Opt for the extension of the period cartography, in homage to regained freedom, or let yourself be carried away by the emotion and courage of the heroes of the D-Day landings, with a dial crafted from an authentic American helmet that took part in the liberation of Europe.

“THE EYES OF THE WORLD ARE UPON YOU”

Encapsulated sand from Normandy beaches, with the permission of the Hermanville-sur-Mer Town Hall

Encapsulated sand from Normandy beaches, with the permission of the Hermanville-sur-Mer Town Hall

Collected from the paths marked by courage behind Sword Beach in Hermanville-sur-Mer, this authentic sand is encapsulated at 9 o'clock in the watch. Gathered with the permission of the town hall, it embodies the spirit of this historic place, imbued with the memory of those who gave their lives for peace and freedom.

Technical description

The signature elements of the Normandy 1944 are numerous: authentic sand from the D-Day beaches encapsulated in the watch, an original fragment of an American M1 helmet that belonged to a soldier of the liberation of Europe, as well as an optional strap crafted in France from M1928 bags used by American troops during the Second World War.

The Normandie 1944 model is powered by a Japanese Miyota mechanical movement, caliber 8215. Renowned for its reliability and precision, this 21-jewel mechanism offers a 42-hour power reserve. A discreet and consistent horological heart, embodying the harmony between Japanese tradition and the rigor of time.

The 43mm diameter and 12mm thick case is crafted from 316L stainless steel, ensuring robustness and quality. Its matte black finish lends a modern and understated touch, while the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal provides optimal protection against impacts and scratches. Water-resistant to 10 ATM and featuring 20mm lug width, this case combines strength and elegance, guaranteeing the watch remarkable longevity without compromising on style.

The 316L stainless steel case back features a matte black finish that underscores the watch's understated elegance. It is adorned with a sapphire crystal displaying the US Army emblem, adding a unique touch. This material is highly corrosion-resistant and lends the watch a sophisticated yet timeless style. The screw-down clasp ensures a secure fit and excellent water resistance, while maintaining a refined design.

For a more authentic and field-inspired experience, you can also opt for our “haversack” canvas strap , designed in the spirit of vintage military bags, or choose a green NATO strap , which is durable, practical and perfectly consistent with the military DNA of the model.

The version crafted entirely from 316L stainless steel , enhanced by a matte black finish, embodies modernity and robustness. Designed for durability, this finish guarantees a comfortable and secure wearing experience, further enhanced by a double-locking folding clasp, ideal for everyday use.
