The watch in homage to Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte
Napoleon Bonaparte, born in Corsica in 1769, was a French military man and statesman. A strategic genius, he became emperor in 1804 after putting an end to the French Revolution that began in 1789. He conquered much of Europe before being defeated and exiled, dying at the age of 51 on the island of Saint Helena, where he was held prisoner for six years. His vision of law and the state had a lasting impact on France and Europe.
