The history of the encapsulated jacket

The authentic piece of jacket encapsulated in the JAMAIS SEUL watch comes from a leather jacket worn by Johnny's when he was awarded a gold record. A leather jacket, black obvioulsy. A simple, elegant model, signed by the Parisian couturier Gerard Sené.

On the official Johnny Hallyday watch, the jacket cut-out is on the side, at 9 o'clock. Encapsulated in a sapphire sapphire glass case, to preserve it from the ravages of time and as a window to the past. A certificate of authenticity of the provenance of this jacket will also be delivered to you with the watch.

The birth of a rockstartar

Born in 1943, Jean-Philippe Smet grew up with his cousin Desta and her husband Lee Hallyday, both acrobatic dancers. Immersed in this world, Jean-Philippe Smet developed a passion for the arts, and music in particular. From the age of 13, he learned to master the musical stage by performing in shows.

It was during this period that Johnny Hallyday was born, a nickname given to him by his adoptive father, Lee Hallyday.

"The Idol of the Youth"

Johnny Hallyday, still a teenager, developed his passion for music, particularly after discovering Elvis Presley for the first time. His destiny was set: he would become a rock singer. In the early 1960s, Johnny Hallyday released his first single, "Laisse les Filles," marking the beginning of his contract with Vogue and the start of his career. The public was captivated, the Hallyday phenomenon grew, and the artist then became known as "L’idole des jeunes," in homage to the song of the same name.

"Lighting the Fire"

Thousands of youths moved, danced, and united during this legendary music festival, a symbol of the yé-yé generation. The enthusiasm for Johnny Hallyday did not stop there.

In 1998, the rock star lit the fire at the Stade de France, becoming the first French artist to perform there, in front of over 80,000 people.

To celebrate the turn of the millennium, Johnny Hallyday gathered nearly 400,000 people at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. Over his 57-year career, Johnny Hallyday brought together nearly 28 million spectators, from Belgium to France, and from Canada to the United States. A global star!
